What coordinate system is the parcel data in when downloaded in DXF format?

After downloading the parcel data for a specific county for use in AutoCAD Civil 3D, how do you determine what coordinate system to use? There was no additional data included with the DXF files that were downloaded.

The Alabama parcel data was originally loaded in WGS 1984 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere but was converted to the Alabama State Plane coordinate system.
